A significant number of GIF images on the web need more space than necessary, thus wasting both disc space and band width. This is especially true for icons or other graphics with small dimensions, which appear unsuspicious for this very reason. Files of 1 kb size sometimes can be reduced more than 70% without differences in visual appearance.
